Broad Brook
Foundation Grant

The Broad Brook Foundation offers a financial grant to high school seniors who live in the Broad Brook watershed to congratulate them on completing high school and choosing to continue their educational journey. Our goal is to celebrate our local graduates as they enter certified training programs, trade schools, and two and four year colleges.

Each financial grant is $500. Recipients are selected by the four board trustees.

Eligibility:

  • 2026 High School Graduation

  • Residence in the Broad Brook watershed* The Broad Brook watershed includes those portions of Barnard, Pomfret, Royalton and Sharon where streams flow into Broad Brook. Residents who live on property contiguous with these portions are also eligible for grants.

  • Acceptance into a certified training program, trade school, or two or four year college

Applicants will send a letter with their high school graduation information and their upcoming education plans. The applicant’s physical home address as well as the mailing address( if it is different), should be included to establish eligibility.

The deadline for submission is May 1st, annually.  Letters of application should be sent to Sue Schlabach via mail or email sue.schlabach@gmail.com. Selected applicants will be notified by the end of May. Grants will be awarded upon high school graduation.
